A plastic windbreak and privacy mesh

Hello everyone, we are from Fenceshop and today we want to talk to you about a particular plastic mesh, called AIRI, from the Tenax brand. This mesh is designed to offer both a windbreak and privacy effect while still allowing some visibility from the other side. However, as is often the case, compromises must be made to meet all these needs.

Technical characteristics of the AIRI mesh

The AIRI mesh is made of HDPE, or high-density polyethylene, using high-quality raw materials. This ensures a long product life, which is guaranteed by the company for five years. Additionally, the mesh is UV-protected, so it won't suffer damage from prolonged sun exposure.

The mesh has a rounded diamond shape with dimensions of about 12x13 millimeters. This makes the mesh rather tight and sturdy. The only available height is one meter, while the rolls are supplied in a 30-meter format. At Fenceshop, we also offer the option to purchase the mesh by the meter for greater flexibility. The mesh is available in two colors: the classic Tenax green and silver.

Uses of the AIRI mesh

This mesh is particularly suitable for installation on balconies, balustrades, railings, and terraces. It is ideal for protecting against falling objects or preventing small animals from falling off the balcony. Additionally, it can be used to create small fences in the garden.

Installing the AIRI mesh

Installing the AIRI mesh is relatively simple. At Fenceshop, we assign a difficulty level of 2 out of 5. To secure it, just tie it to the railing, gate, or desired structure with some fix-ties or binding wire. If using a wooden frame, the mesh can be nailed with staples.

The mesh can be easily cut with scissors and shaped as needed. It is a sturdy but easy-to-work mesh, making it suitable for various applications.

Wind and privacy protection

As mentioned, the AIRI mesh offers some wind and privacy protection. The 12x13 millimeter mesh allows a certain amount of wind to pass through but at the same time creates a wall effect that reduces the impact of the wind. Do not expect the effectiveness of a veranda or a blind nylon sheet, but the mesh still significantly reduces the wind effect and masks the view, especially if installed diagonally.
