Hello everyone, I'm Marco from Fenceshop and today we'll talk about mulching. Mulching is an agricultural practice that mechanically prevents the growth of invasive weeds without the use of chemical herbicides. In this video, we'll analyze a specific product for mulching: Green Cover by Tenax.

What is Mulching?

Mulching is a technique that involves covering the soil with a fabric to prevent weed growth while maintaining soil moisture. This method is ecological and does not require the use of chemicals. Green Cover, the Tenax product, is an excellent example of a mulching fabric. It is available in four colors: black, green, brown, and white, and is made from 100% virgin raw material. It is a made in Italy product, marketed in 100 linear meter rolls, but at Fenceshop we also offer cuts by the meter in various heights.

Uses of Mulching

Mulching is mainly used in agriculture to prevent weed growth. However, it also has other interesting uses. It can be used as a privacy screen or as a shading fabric on a fence, offering complete visual coverage. Although it was not designed for this purpose, many customers find it useful for this use as well.

Installation

To correctly position the mulching fabric, follow these steps:

  • Remove existing weeds from the soil.
  • Lay the fabric horizontally on the soil.
  • Secure the fabric with U-shaped nails, metal or plastic, or U-shaped bent wire.
  • Cut the fabric crosswise at the plants' location to allow them to grow without hindrance.
  • Fold the edges of the fabric inward and secure with stakes to prevent fraying.

  • It is draining, allowing water and moisture to penetrate the soil.
  • It blocks sunlight, preventing weed growth.
