All you need to get the job done:  A good percussion drill for the holes in the wall, a hammer, a spirit level and a plumb line. 

The first thing to do, as always, is to position your material where it is going to be installed. Position the material following this sequence: 1 panel then 1 pole, 1 panel then 1 pole etc. 

Distribute the brackets to secure the panels on the posts next to the poles. Getting things ready in an orderly fashion means having to bend down a lot less later on.

With the tool supplied, begin attaching each panel to a pole. 

If you want to speed up the job, use a power screwdriver.

To help keep the panel at the right height, position a 5 cm spacer on the wall. 

Place one of the modules (one panel attached to one pole) and position on the wall next to the previous pole. 

Unscrew the bracket on the previous pole.

Position the new module.

Tighten the bracket to secure both the previous panel and the newly positioned one.

Tighten manually to secure.

During this phase, don’t worry about making sure the poles are perfectly plumb.

Now you can begin fixing the poles to the wall. Drill the first of two holes with a percussion drill with a 10 mm cement bit inserted, like the plugs that you will be positioning in the holes. 

Insert the plug in the hole and hammer it all the way down. 

Drill the second hole.

Position the second plug and hammer all the way down, as before. 

Screw the bolts down through the pole plate. 

If the pole is not quite plumb, slide slivers of metal spacers, like small washers, under the plate as needed. 

You can use a hammer to help you slide the spacers under the plate if needed.  

When you are satisfied that the post is perfectly perpendicular to the wall, tighten the expansion anchors. Do the same for all the other posts.

Make sure that the spacers are sufficient to keep the post plumb. If not add or remove them until you get the desired result. 

At this point you are now ready to install your modular fence along all the linear part of your perimeter. More often than not, the last panel is longer than necessary, as it’s quite rare that multiples of 203 cm precisely fit the length of fencing required. In the next steps you will learn how to adapt a panel to create acute and/or obtuse corners.

Position a panel flush with the last post, as if you were installing it normally.

Loosen the fixing brackets holding the last panel installed.

Position the last panel that needs to be cut to size and tighten the fixing brackets along the length of the pole. 

As you can see in the photo, the panel is longer than required but one side is already secured.

Now you need to cut the panel to size. You can do this with an angle grinder or heavy duty wire cutters, making sure that it reaches the last pole and that you don’t leave any spikes. Remember to touch up the parts that have been cut with paint, either with a brush or spray can, to avoid the formation of rust. The panels are Ral 6005 green. 

Now you can tighten the fixing brackets to secure the panel as you did with all the others.

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is: How can I attach fixing brackets in corners or where there is a change is level when the predrilled holes in the Nylofor 3D 2M poles are not in the position I require? The answer is easy…. Use our self-tapping screws that will allow you to secure the brackets anywhere you require along the post. All you need is a power screwdriver and a bit of pressure to screw into the post.

Here you can see a corner where the pre-drilled holes have been used on one side and self-tapping screws on the other.

And now for the final finishing touch…. Position and press the plastic caps over the screw holes on the brackets.

This is what the finished job looks like. All the posts are perfectly aligned and you can always adjust the alignment of the panels by slightly loosening the brackets, repositioning and then tightening.   Now that you know how it’s done, all you need is to have the Betafence Nylofor 3D 2M fencing system panels you require delivered to your home and give it a go yourself!
