The Rectangular but Horizontal Mesh

Hello everyone, I'm Marco from Fenceshop. Today we will talk about a plastic mesh that has particular robustness characteristics. This mesh is available in two models: Hobby 10 and Hobby 30. Let's discover them together!

Technical Characteristics

The mesh is made of HDPE, high-density polyethylene, with fully recycled, non-toxic, first-quality polymers. This material guarantees long-lasting durability, with a 10-year warranty under normal usage conditions. The mesh features a rectangular shape oriented horizontally and is available in two versions:

  • Hobby 10: Rectangular mesh of 15 x 10 mm, available at a height of 1 meter.
  • Hobby 30: Rectangular mesh of 32 x 20 mm, available at heights of 0.5 meters and 1 meter.

This mesh is produced through a process of orienting the longitudinal wires, which provides high robustness. The upper and lower edges are reinforced with three wires and are not sharp. Additionally, the mesh is UV-protected, ensuring greater resistance to weather conditions. It is only available in green.

Formats and Availability

The Hobby mesh is available in rolls of 50 linear meters and small rolls of 5 linear meters. In our Fenceshop store, we exclusively stock the 50-meter rolls, but we also offer convenient per-meter cutting, allowing you to purchase exactly the amount of mesh you need.

Uses of the Mesh

This mesh is ideal for residential uses. It can be used as protection for gratings, gates, balconies, and other existing structures. Thanks to its robustness, it can also be used as a fence for small gardens or vegetable patches. However, if used as a traditional fence, an appropriate structure with posts and tension wires is necessary.

Installing the Mesh

Installing the Hobby mesh is very simple and has a difficulty level of 2 out of 5. Being light and easily shapeable, it can be cut with scissors and bent without difficulty. If applied to existing structures, electrician-type fix-ties can be used. We recommend the Athenas fix-ties, which are UV-protected and offer superior durability. Alternatively, plastic-coated iron wire or staples can be used to fix it onto wooden structures.

Conclusion

The Hobby 10 and Hobby 30 mesh is an excellent product often underestimated. It is ideal for a variety of residential uses and offers exceptional long-term durability. Personally, I see it fitting perfectly on already existing wooden structures, where it is very suitable.
