The ground screw post supports for round wooden poles by Vortek represent an innovative cement free fencing solution.
Made from hot-dip galvanized steel, the shape of these post supports together with the presence of a top plate guarantee an optimum anchorage for all types of fencing including electro-welded and chain link mesh.
Vortek ground screws are suitable for a variety of terrains including sandy soil, limestone with gravel and small stones, compact or heavy rooted soils. Where the terrain is particularly hard and/or stony it may be necessary to drill a preliminary hole with a 20/30 cm bit to facilitate the installation of the screw.
With the Vortek ground screw system it only takes about a minute to install a post, which represents a 90% reduction in time compared with traditional methods. Furthermore, Vortek ground screws can be installed along all elevation changes.
This system also allows for installations in restricted areas where, for example, the use of cement is prohibited and of course, being able to recover the supports for further use is an exceptional advantage.
In fact, these supports can be easily unscrewed from the ground should a change of plan be decided, which will save you money and respect the environment.
As well as being a fast and environmentally friendly system, Vortek screws are also easy to install by DIY enthusiasts who are not necessarily professionals in the fencing field. All you need to do is screw the supports into the ground, either manually or with the aid of a drill, thanks to the dedicated accessories which can be purchased separately.
In deciding which Vortek screws are best for your needs, first you will need to know how many posts you require. Then add the same number of P-posts as braces needed for corners, beginnings and ends. P-series ground screws accommodate round wooden poles if installed slanted for the braces.
At this point remember to purchase the insert to drive the screw supports into the ground. There are various solutions but in this case you will need either the manual T 35-series turnkey or the SDS Max T 35 insert for your electric drill or screwdriver.
Once the supports are firmly in the ground just slide the round post (about 15 cm) into the support. You can straighten the post later by pulling or pushing it in the desired direction.
When choosing the height of the pole with regard to the mesh, consider that the pole will be inserted into the support so the pole will have to be higher than the mesh. For example: Mesh 150 cm high will need a 175 cm pole. Mesh 200 cm high will need a 225 cm pole and so forth.
Now all you have to do is put the number of supports you need into the shopping basket and discover that putting up a fence…. has never been as fast and easy.
